For the first time in the history of health and hospital services in Marinduque, the Provincial Hospital is poised to launch the first Hospital-based Hemodialysis Clinic in the province. Since the start of Governor Presbitero Velasco Jr’s term, one of his main focuses has always been the addition of hospital facilities and the improvement of our government hospital services in order to serve the needs of our residents.
This is made possible with the help and partnership with the private sector. The Rotary Club of Marinduque North formally turned over three (3) dialysis machines and a water treatment facility last December 8, 2021. One more machine is expected to be delivered as soon as possible. The Provincial Government Office and the Office of Congressman thru Speaker Lord Allan Velasco have a counterpart of extra 4 dialysis machines for delivery.
Currently, the appointment of staff and doctors is already ongoing and the licensing thru the Department of Health is expected to be finished by the second quarter of 2022.
This is very good news for our residents who need a weekly dialysis treatment because they don’t need to travel to the mainland to be able to have their dialysis treatment.
